W. FORREST BRYANT, DMD FAGD

 

Dr. Bryant is a student of dentistry. He is passionate about helping people feel confident about their smiles through appearance enhancing dentistry. Dr. Bryant graduated in the top 5% of his class at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. He had the highest grade in his class on national boards and one of the highest grades in the nation. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental society that selects only the top few students in each class. Dr. Bryant also published several research papers on Dental Implants while in school and represented UAB School of Dentistry in San Francisco and Orlando at the International Association of Dental Research. He received several other awards including the Quintessence Award for Excellence in Dental Research.

After graduating in 1997, Dr. Bryant joined the practice of Dr. David White in Decatur, AL. Dr. Bryant's quest for knowledge and vision for the future was ignited after meeting Dr. Bill Dickerson, founder of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Bryant was having success with cosmetic and general dental services, but after taking his first course at LVI in 2000 he realized that dental school education would only take him so far. Since then, Dr. Bryant has taken 8 courses at LVI.

Dr. Bryant was also recently honored by being invited by Dentsply Friadent Ceramed, the nation's largest implant producer to be involved with an elite group of dentists from theUS to visit the Degussa Dental site in Hanau, Germany to train and evaluate the Ankylos Dental Implant System. Dr. Bryant believes the Ankylos system has some wonderful advantages for esthetic implants in the smile-zone.

Dr. Bryant was also recently granted Fellowship Status with the American Academy of General Dentistry. He is one of the youngest doctors to achieve this Fellowship and was awarded this prestiguous recognition in Washington DC. Dr Bryant has also donated his time in getting the Morgan County Free Clinic established. The Dental Clinic opened in the Summer of 2006 and provides free dental care to poverty level residents of Morgan County with no insurance. Dr Bryant serves on the Board of the Clinic and also volunteers his time in treating patients there.

Dr. Bryant also donates his time through international dental mission trips. He loves using his dental skills to help those in need here and abroad. He has served the people of Belize and El Salvador on many Dental Mission Trips.

Dr. Bryant is very excited about future possibilities with the Pure Power Mouthguard (PPM). He was one of the first trained PPM dentists in North America and has fitted many professional, college and high school athletes from all sports. He currently trains other doctors in southeast America.

Dr. Bryant is a member of  the American Dental Association (ADA), Alabama Dental Association (ALDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Wilson-Chenault Dental Study Club and the 8th District Dental Society.

Dr. Bryant is married to Carol Dye Bryant. Dr. and Mrs. Bryant are blessed with two children, Forrest Junior and Ava. Dr. Bryant enjoys running, mountain biking and photography. Dr Bryant is also very involved in his community. He teaches High School Boys Sunday School at his church, is a Kiwanian and is a board member for the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 


Dr. Patterson Shedd

G. Patterson Shedd, DMD

Dr. Shedd is originally from Mobile AL.  He is an Undergraduate at Birmingham-Southern College with a B.S. in Biology-Psychology.  Dr. Shedd attended dental school at UAB, graduating in 2008.  He completed a one year residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry or AEGD) at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham where he received greater education in the field of general dentistry, particularly treating patients with multiple medical concerns. Dr. Shedd is currently a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Alabama Dental Association (ALDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Wilson-Chenault Dental Study Club and the 8th District Dental Society. He also serves as an Alabama District Representative on the Committee of the New Dentist, which focuses on helping dentists who have been out of school 10 years or less become more involved in organized dentistry.  "In my spare time, I enjoy being on the water, playing golf, and playing guitar."


 

Dr. Kyle Donaghey of Bryant Dental

 

Dr. Kyle Donaghey - Welcome!

 

Dr. Donaghey is the newest member of the Bryant Dental Team.  Like Dr. Shedd and Dr. Bryant, Dr. Donaghey spent the early years of his life in Mobile, AL.  Son of an orthodontist, Dr. Jimmy Donaghey, his interest and involvement in the dental profession began at an early age.  During his college years, Dr. Donaghey spent his summers performing lab and clinical procedures at his father’s office.  He completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University, earning a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and graduating with Cum Laude honors.   Dr. Donaghey went on to complete his dental education at UAB School of Dentistry.  He is currently a member of the ADA, ALDA,  Academy of General Dentistry, the Wilson Chenault Dental Study Club, and the 8th District Dental Society.   Dr. Donaghey loves Decatur and excited about meeting the locals and exploring the Tennessee River.  When he is not doing dentistry, Dr. Donaghey can usually be found on the water, spending his free time fishing, wakeboarding, and duck hunting. 

Dr. Donaghey has a passion for providing care to the underserved.  Through his involvement in Christian Medical Ministries of Alabama, Dr. Donaghey has participated in mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, providing dental treatment to people who can’t afford or do not have access to care.  During his senior year of dental school, Dr. Donaghey worked at the Franklin Primary Health Center, Mobile Health Department, and the Christ Health Center, donating treatment to poverty level patients.  In the future, he plans to serve at the Morgan County Free Clinic and continue his involvement with international mission trips.
